Sav, the owner of Sav's Grill & West African Cuisine, grew up in Guinea, learning to cook by observing his talented sisters and mother. He met his wife who was a Peace Corps volunteer in his country and they moved to Lexington and started a family.
Sav’s Grill features healthy and delicious dishes that combine the flavors of Africa with traditional southern favorites! Choose from amazing bowls for lunch or dinner including Peanut Sauce with Chicken or Peanut Sauce with Goat, Tiagé (TEE-uh-GAY) which is tilapia rolled together with corn flour and spices and served in a peanut sauce. Riz Gras is a great dish with sirloin tips and lots of vegetables and seasoned rice. Sav’s Grill also proudly serves hearty babyback ribs & cornish hen platters, cheese grits and fried plantains. Vegetarian sauces include Leaf Sauce (spinach based), Mafen, a healthy variety of vegetables including carrots, potato, and eggplant or the West African classic Peanut sauce with chunky potatoes.
